Kotis Properties is a real estate development and services firm specializing
in restaurant real estate. The company’s history in the restaurant business
dates back to the 1930s with Manuel’s Restaurant in Greensboro, NC, owned by
William Kotis, Sr. In the late 1950s, William Kotis, Jr. also entered the
restaurant business and subsequently changed his focus to restaurant real estate
investment and concept development. The current president, William “Marty” Kotis
III, who’s first job was in the family restaurants at age 11, has led the
company through continued development and the addition of its restaurant real
estate services division. Marty Kotis is also the president of the Council of
International Restaurant Real Estate Brokers.
Since 1957, the Kotis family has developed over 200 restaurants in the
Carolinas. It owns and manages various properties in North and South Carolina.
The real estate services division operates nationwide but focuses on the
Carolinas. The company also represents landowners seeking restaurant users,
including Burroughs and Chapin Company, the company that founded Myrtle Beach,
SC. Current restaurant clients include Baja Fresh, Golden Corral, Corky’s Ribs
and BBQ, Papa John’s, and Roy’s Restaurants.
Kotis Properties is headquartered in Greensboro, NC with offices in Myrtle
Beach, SC. Its divisions include Kotis Construction Company, Kotis Restaurant
Group, and Kotis Real Estate Services with an office in Myrtle Beach, SC.
